Our first coffee from this region, Ratnagiri International is headed by the husband and wife team of Ashok and Divya Patre. The Patre family has been producing coffee since 1927 when Ashok's late grandfather Patre K Shivappaiya acquired land and started the process to plant coffee trees. The coffee estate was passed to Ashok's father, and in 1989 Ashok took over the coffee farm. Ashok rejuvenated the production of the coffee farm by introducing new varietals and renewing the health of the soil. Coffee production has continued to evolve by introducing an innovative approach based on technology and science. In 2024, new large scale fermentation tanks were incorporated into the production of coffee supplementing the existing small batch fermentation tanks. In addition to this, a temperature and humidity controlled drying chamber is being brought online to further ensure consistent and high quality coffees. The coffee estate today incorporates the best practices in coffee farming including intercropping, the use of shade trees, and careful soil analysis. By combining tradition with modern techniques, Ratnagiri International continues to produce exceptional coffee as it looks towards the future

This coffee has low acidity, and a creamy body.We taste hazelnuts, has a cherry like acidity, a creamy body and pralines in the finish.
